Theresa Dirkx

Theresa Jean Dirkx passed away peacefully on January 28,2026.

She was born on April 27,1940, in Akron Ohio to the late Paul and Mary Hreha. She was a graduate of Garfield High School and worked at General Tire and then for many years in the Akron Public Schools. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Theresa enjoyed golfing and all Cleveland sports teams.

In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Dirkx, brother Paul Hreha and his wife Margaret, brother-in-law Andrew Kaman, and nephew Richard Kaman.

She is survived by her sister Dorothy Kaman and eight nieces and nephews: John (Debra) Hreha, Joseph (Ann) Hreha, Susan (Gary) Sexton, James (Cynthia) Hreha, Kathryn (Michael) Garrison, MaryBeth (Michael) Emming, Andrew Kaman, Elaine (David) Tibbals.

Theresa is also survived by many cousins and dozens of grand and great nieces and nephews.

The family gives special thanks to the staff at Mulberry Gardens Memory Care and to Crossroads Hospice. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on April 18, 2026, from 10-11AM at St Paul Catholic Church 1580 Brown St. Akron, Ohio. A Mass will immediately follow and then an interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Per Theresa's request, family and friends will then gather for a luncheon at Anthony Funeral Homes 1990 S. Main St.
