Thelma Larue Given

Thelma LaRue Given, 88, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in Ocala, Florida.
She was born in Akron and was a Buchtel High School graduate. She managed the Cafeteria at Firestone High School and retired from there after over 20 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Alda (Kauffman) Gowin; husband, Clyde Given; daughter, Beverly McLeod; brother, James Gowin; and sisters, Audrey Dubs and Elaine Radabaugh. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Martin) Feinstein; brothers, Elry (Pat) Gowin and Everett Gowin; grandchildren, Sean McLeod and Heather (Geoff) White; and great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Benjamin White.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, 10 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard St. Alexandria, Virginia 22311.
