Thalia Jane (Barkley) Mcvicker

Thalia Jane McVicker, 79, passed away Friday, 23 February 2024 at the Village of St. Edward in Green.

Thalia was born 23 July 1944 to James R. and Ruth M. (Rexrode) Barkley in Elkins, WV. She graduated from Elkins High School ~class of '62, from Salem College with a bachelor's degree then obtaining a master's degree in education from West Virginia University. She taught at Green Local Schools for 37 years. She was a member of Amherst Community Church.

Thalia is survived by her husband of 57 years, Elden; sons Elden R. McVicker Jr. (J.R.) spouse Patricia and their son Thomas. James W. McVicker (J.W.) spouse Colleen and their daughters Brianna, Micheala, Landry, and Aislynn; along with her brother James "Chuck" Barkley spouse Shelia.

The family will receive friends Thursday, 29 February, 2024 from 5 to 7pm at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Road (corner of Massillon and Steese, entrance off Steese) where funeral services will immediately follow.

Interment Friday, 1 March 2024 at 1:00pm, Maplewood Cemetery, Elkins, WV with a small gathering after.
