Svetozar Popovic

Svetozar Popovic, 86, passed away at 10:35 pm on October 13, 2013.
Born in Yugoslavia on June 27, 1927, Svetozar came to the US in 1971. He was a member of St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church. Svetozar was an avid soccer fan. He was a player & coach in Yugoslavia. Svetozar was the biggest supporter and fan of the Internationals Soccer Club, and he considered all of them to be his soccer family. He was a soccer junkie who truly had a love & passion for the game.
Preceded in death by his wife Maria, Svetozar is survived by his son Zdravko of Akron.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home, KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a Parastos will take place at 7:30 pm. A funeral service will take place on Thursday at 10:00 am at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church 2550 Pickle Rd. Akron, OH 44312, where Svetozar will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church.
