Sue Carol Mazzagatti (Murphy), 88, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

Preceded in death by mother Zella Marguerite Heglas, beloved parents Harry and Ruby Murphy, husband of 42 years Stanley Mazzagatti, son Mark Mazzagatti Sr., Son-in-law David Sekusky, Daughter-in-law Cynthia Mazzagatti, granddaughter Julie Mazzagatti, great granddaughter Asiya Abdulkarim, brothers Joey Heglas, Richard Cline and God-daughter Angela Kurlich.

Survived by daughters Gina Sekusky and Lisa (Rick) Karam, daughter-in-law Janet (Jim) Ingersoll, sons Tony Mazzagatti, Jeff Mazzagatti, Jim (Marie) Mazzagatti, 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 8 nieces, 10 nephews and many extended family and friends who loved her very much.

The love of her life was always her family, loving them and being with them. She enjoyed reading all kinds of books, dancing in the kitchen on Saturday mornings to polka music with her grandchildren, going to Pow Wows, and attending cultural festivals. Some of her most cherished memories were also made spending time in the summers at Lake Gage in Angola, Indiana.

She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who worked two jobs for many years, including 18 years at Zayre Corp and 32 years at the Croatian American Club. She later continued her years of service at the North American Indian Cultural Center, where she worked for 30 years.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 29 from 2-4 PM at the Anthony & Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, 1990 S Main St, Akron OH 44301. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, March 30 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown Street in Akron. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. (anthonyfh.com)
