Steve Marz

Steve (Stefan) Marz passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014.
He was born in 1928 in Croatia and left home at the age of 14. He served time in a prison camp in Germany and in 1944 was released in Austria. He worked in a greenhouse for 8 years as a young man. He met Maria and was married in 1951. He came to the United States in 1952 and worked at the Atlantic Foundry for 35 years retiring in 1986. Steve's hobbies were gardening, fishing and woodcarving.
He leaves his wife, Maria; son, Karl Marz; 4 granddaughters; and 4 great-grandchildren. Steve will also be deeply missed by neighbors and other family and relatives.
Funeral service prayers will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
