Stephen Patrick Lucas (Lucic)

Stephen "Steve", 55, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 20 of natural causes, and is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

An Akron native, Steve graduated from St. Vincent- St. Mary High School in 1978, Kent State University and University of Nebraska-Lincoln with Mathematics and MBA-Finance degrees. Steve resided in Ross Township of Pittsburgh, PA and belonged to St. Teresa of Avila Church. He worked as a national sales account manager for Continental ContiTech AG, a former division of Goodyear Engineered Products.

Steve received the Knights of Columbus Manhood Award in his senior year of high school which is a testament to his character. Steve was a beautiful and devoted son, brother, uncle, friend, cousin, nephew and neighbor. He will be greatly missed by all. Steve's light will shine bright for a long time.

Steve was an avid fisherman, deer hunter and, sportsman including wrestling, football, cycling, volleyball, golf, and general exercise and health habits. He loved the outdoors and playing Rumico, a family card game. But first and foremost to him was his Catholic faith, family and friends. Steve was a rock and pillar to his immediate and extended families and never missed the chance to visit, help, travel or extend a kind word.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Steven J. and Margaret Mary, (nee Regan of County Mayo, Ireland) Lucas, stepmother, Anna Lucas (nee Hurley), and brother Anthony Procaccio. He is survived by sisters, Joan Procaccio (Lewes, DE), Maureen Puckett (Lakewood), bothers Martin (Sagamore Hills) and Michael (Anchorage), nieces and nephews, Mick, Anjuli, Claire, Patrick, Michael, and Sarah.

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St., Akron). Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (1905 Portage Tr., Cuyahoga Falls). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Rosary Academy (1010 W. Firewood Ln., Anchorage, AK 99503).
