Shirley P. Uitto

Shirley Uitto, 88, became an angel, surrounded by her family, on May 29, 2016.
Born on May 27, 1928 in Johnstown, PA to the late William & Gertrude Pringle, Shirley had been a Stow/Cuyahoga Falls resident since 1957. She was a charter member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Stow, where she organized the J.O.Y. Senior Group. She retired from the City of Stow in 1982, where she worked in Parks and Recreation and the Service Department.
Family was Shirley's main focus in life. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Arvid; children Barbara (Jeff) Reid of Cuyahoga Falls, Bruce (Waynette) of Ewa Beach, HI, Judy (Steve) Hanneman of Folsom, CA, Diane (Russ) Cozart of Uniontown, OH; grandchildren Erica (Tommy) Hinson, Lauren Hanneman, Jacqueline (Mike) Nicholls, Camille Uitto, Lindsey Hanneman, Leo (Audra) Uitto, Payton Cozart, Gannen Cozart; great-grandchildren Aidan, Jaxson, Lincoln, Leila, Kade, Ella, and Stella; brother William H. (Sherry) Pringle of Fort Myers, FL.
A memorial service will be conducted by Pastor John Corsi on Sunday, 3 pm, at St Stephen Lutheran Church 3725 Kent Rd. Stow, OH 44224, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will take place at Stow Cemetery.
