Shirley Ann (Tipton) Kay

Shirley Ann Kay, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 surrounded by her family.
Shirley was born in Akron on April 17, 1935 to the late Clarence and Margaret Tipton and was a lifelong area resident. She worked as a teller for many years at Akron National Bank. Shirley was a longtime, faithful member of the Chapel in Akron. She loved the Cleveland Indians, and her favorite player was Jim Hegan. Shirley was an avid reader and she enjoyed preparing beautiful gifts for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought so much joy to her life.
In addition her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Fay Tipton and sister Reda (Tipton) Harvey. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John; sons John Jr. (Fay) of New Lexington, OH, and Ron (Sheri) of Galloway, OH; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Monday, December 19 from 4-7PM and Tuesday, December 20 from 12Noon-1PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes, McGowan Reid and Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave in Cuyahoga Falls (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail in), where a funeral service will be celebrated at 1PM Tuesday.
