Ruth Lawton

Ruth H. Lawton (Ridge), 83, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015 in Barberton. Ruth was born on July 31, 1931 in Akron to the late Samuel and Mary Snyder. She worked for Ohio Bell for over 19 years, retiring in 1982. Ruth was a parishioner at St. Paul Catholic Church and was a former member of the Northfield VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She also volunteered for Akron City Hospital and the American Red Cross. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Tammy Smart and Holly Ridge (fiancé Jeffrey Warner); and granddaughter, Nicole. The family is especially grateful to Donna Walton and Leah Evans, Ruth's cousins; Christine Kasting, for her kind care of Ruth; and to ManorCare of Barberton. A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. TOMORROW at the Anthony Funeral Home, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where the family will receive friends beginning at 1 P.M. Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
