Ruth Lange Drews (Bedur), 95, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016.
Born December 7, 1920 to George and Clara (Haberkost) Bedur in Akron, Ruth was a 1938 graduate of Garfield High School and retired from Ohio Edison after 16 years as a Technical Assistant in Power Supply Planning. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church where she was a dedicated member of Altar Guild. After retiring, she joined Lutheran Braille Society where she made braille Bibles for world-wide distribution to the blind. She was newly married to her Garfield High classmate at the time of their 50th class reunion and they both participated extensively on the Planning Committee.
Ruth was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Carl W. Lange and Robert W. Drews and her brother Richard Bedur. She is survived by her children Carolyn (Richard) Moore, Susan (R.J. DelMedico) Lange and Carl Lange; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the caring staff at the Colonies of Windsor and Crossroads Hospice.
The family will receive friends TODAY, Tuesday, from 4 to 7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am. Pastor Jack Kozak officiating. Interment Mt. Peace Cemetery.
