Ruby Gwinn

Ruby Mary Gwinn, 105, passed away December 1, 2025.

Ruby was born November 23, 1920 in Baywood, VA to Paul and Zollie (Wingate) Tomlinson. Ruby graduated from Kenmore High School. She retired from the University of Akron and was a member of the Family of Faith United Methodist Church.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Charles Lester Gwinn; sons Gary Alan and Larry Albert Gwinn; sisters Pauline McDaniel, Alice Hoskins, and Grace Reed; brothers-in-law Max Reed and Bill Hoskins; nephews Bill McDaniel (Royce), Richard Hoskins, and Dennis McDaniel (Theresa).

Ruby is survived by her daughter-in-law Lyn (Walker) Gwinn; grandchildren Benjamin Charles Gwinn, Carrie Catherine Gwinn (Shane), and Aaron Paul Gwinn (Krissy); great grandchildren Calvin Alexander Gwinn, Morgan Catherine Miller, and Thanos Gwinn; nieces Diane Voloshyn (Don) and Theresa McDaniel; nephew Ron Hoskins (Bonnie).

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 16 at 11:30 AM at Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. Pastor Ron Shultz officiating. Calling hours will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park, followed by a reception at the funeral home. Flowers (God's creation) are welcome.
