Our dear Mother "Oma", Rosalia Herman, passed away peacefully and reunited with her
husband John "Opa" on July 29, 2025 at the age of 98.
Born in Ostrosinci, Yugoslavia (Croatia) on September 15, 1926, to Johann and Josefine Kuehm.
Rosalia, along with husband John and children John Jr. and Josephine, immigrated to the United
States in 1952. Rosalia worked side by side with husband John, as a seamstress and John a tailor
at several garment manufacturing companies in Akron prior to starting their own business in
1968, Herman Garment Mfg. Co., where their son Frank and daughter Rose were also part of
their American Dream. Upon retiring, mom continued sewing from home for several companies
into her late 80's. This was secondary in importance to her cooking Goulash, Paprikash, Sarma
and Chicken Soup for a myriad of family members on Saturdays and Sundays, and still finding
time to attend to her flower gardens.
Rose was a longtime member of Christ the King Church and later St. Sebastian Parish. She was
preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, John, who passed away in 1989; her
parents Johann and Josefine; and her brothers Siegmund "Zivko", Markus, and Thomas. She is
survived by her children; John (Wanda) Herman, Jo (Steve) Buffone, Frank (Tina) Herman and
Rose (John) Blike; Grandchildren, Michael (Janet) Herman,Katie Kuzyk, Amber (Michael) D'Elia,

Rose was a loving Grandmother/Oma to 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Her zest
for life, sense of humor, limitless energy, love, kindness, and unending faith in God will provide
our family with deep appreciation for a life well lived and the comfort in knowing she is in God's
care now with her rosary in hand.
