Ronald John Saverno

Ronald J. Saverno, 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 31, 2024.
Ron was born in Garfield Heights, OH on March 27, 1933, to the late Louis & Dolores Saverno. He served his country in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a supervisor from Ohio Bell/AT&T. He was a member of St. Hilary Catholic Church. He was a member of the VFW Post #9520. Ron was a loving and caring father & grandfather. Ron loved to vacation in Florida in the winter. He enjoyed annual golf trips with his buddies in the Carolinas.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his first wife Joan. He is survived by his beloved wife Betty Lee; sister Carol & brother Louis (Holly); his daughter Sandy (Jeff) Kovarik; grandchildren Cassie, Matt, Ali, Megan, and Ray, as well as 6 great-grandchildren; step- daughters Christine (Onie) Kouri, Rene' (Jim) Sam's, Mary (Dan) Beers; step-son John Kouri.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 3, from 2-4 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home, AKRON Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 4, at 11:00 am, at St. Hilary Catholic Church 2750 W. Market St. Fairlawn, OH 44333. Interment with full military honors will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Ron's memory to St. Hilary Church.
