Ronald Nicholas Santoro

April 6, 1962 — April 13, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Ronald Nicholas Santoro, Jr. on Sunday, April 13th, 2025. Ron was born on April 6, 1962 in Port Chester, New York to the late Ronald Sr. and Nancy Santoro. He grew up in Cuyahoga Falls and was a 1980 graduate of Woodridge High School.

Ron was preceded in death by his sister, Terri Stumpf. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Katie Santoro; his children, Ron J. (Stephanie) Santoro, Angie (Robert) Duraine, and Patrick (Gina) Swejk; grandchildren Lyla, Jamison, Fiona, Olivia, and Freya. He is also survived by his sisters Tracey Santoro and Robin (Steve) Kovacs.

Ron's family was the cornerstone of his life, and he was a source of support and love for them all. One of Ron's greatest joys in life was being "Papa" to his five grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them, showering them with love and affection. He especially delighted in sharing his lifelong passion for music. From purchasing a kid-sized drum set for the grand kids to try out and singing songs together like "Yellow Submarine", "Sweet Caroline", and "Candy Man".

If you knew Ron, you knew he was a drummer and loved music. He got his first drum set when he was 6 and was always banging on everything around the house growing up. He played in many bands throughout the years including Grounded for Life, Static Pop, Bone Daddy, and Daze Gone Bye. He even played in a country band for a while, having an appreciation for all genres of music.

Ron attended Kent State University for a few years before beginning his career at the Flood Company, where he dedicated many years of service. It was at the Flood Company that he was fortunate enough to meet his beloved wife, Katie, marking the beginning of their life together. At the time of his passing, he was a valued employee of Diebold Nixdorf, as a Department Coordinator for a newly formed Staging department. He helped to coach, mentor, and build processes that developed the department.

Ron will be fondly remembered for his personable and easy-going nature. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, making them feel comfortable and safe enough to open up to him. He was more than just a father, husband, and grandfather; he was a mentor, a confidant, and a true friend to many. His warm smile and genuine interest in others will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral service will take place on Monday, April 21st at 1:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home - Green Chapel, 4178 Massillon Rd. (entrance off of Steese Road). Interment will follow at Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery.
