Roberta Marie Rardin

Roberta Marie Rardin, 88, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at her home.
Roberta was born July 11, 1930 to Robert and Matilda (Packer) Salzman in Lindenwald, Ohio and had been an area resident most of her life.  She was a nurse for Emmett Monroe MD for 24 years.  She was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and a former member of St. Hilary Catholic Church where she was an Eucharisitic Minister and Lector.  She was a member of the Marine Corps League and Curves International.  Roberta loved reading and hiking. She loved music and enjoyed musical theater. But she was never happier than when she was hosting her family for dinner, family parties or holiday celebrations. She was a brilliant cook and baker and will be remembered for her famous roast beef, lasagna, and perhaps most of all, her decadent chocolate cake.
Roberta was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law Clarissa and Jerry Cleland and is survived by her husband Bernard; children Rev. Thomas (Christine) Rardin, Gerry (Jan) Rardin, Elizabeth (Joseph) Fisher and Robert (Tracey) Rardin; sister Judi (Jim) Kirner; grandchildren SarahAnn (Donald) Vroman, Rebekah (Christopher) Sperling, Hannah (Casey) Welch, Luke (Nicole) Cleland, Maureen (Jason) Pittman, Paul (Gina) Cleland, Mary Cleland, Tony (Kristin) Cleland, Hope Cleland, Stefanie (Doug) Bollock, Abby (Brent) Grider, David (Lauren) Rardin, Jennifer K   asper, Maria (Aaron) Baer, Joseph (Julia) Fisher, Lisa Rardin and Catherine Rardin; 19 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 4 to 7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron OH 44301.  A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 am Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd. Uniontown OH 44685.  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the the Walsh Jesuit High Shool Alumni Parent Support, 4550 Wyoga Lake Rd, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44224.
