Robert (Bob) Earl Snyder
We celebrate the life of Robert (Bob) Earl Snyder born May 9, 1950, in Akron to Ralph and Fernette (Snyder) Snyder. Bob passed on Sunday, November 30, 2025, in Akron after a long battle with chronic illnesses.
Bob was strong and courageous in his fight and passed surrounded by some of the many who loved him. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Richard, sister Lucille Evans and his beloved dog, Max.
Bob was a 1968 graduate of Garfield High School and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Akron and a Masters in Engineering at Youngstown State University. He had a brilliant mind that served him well in his 42 years of employment at Babcock and Wilcox in Barberton. He was a faithful member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
On August 30, 1974, Bob Married his love, Karen (Schragal) Snyder. Together they enjoyed traveling, camping, boating and gathering friends and family at their home. Bob and Karen welcomed their daughter, Susan, in 1983. Bob doted on his daughter and worker hard to ensure she had everything she needed. In 2019, one of Bob's greatest joys arrived with the birth of his granddaughter, Calla. They shared a beautiful and unbreakable love.
Bob's kindness, intelligence, humor, generosity and love will be missed by all who survive him. He leaves his wife of 51 years, Karen; daughter Susan (Josh) Long; granddaughter Calla; sisters Eleanor (Phil) Kimball, and Marjorie Clubbs; in-laws Jim and Patty Hughey and Nick and Mary Schragal and many nieces and nephews. Bob had so many he loved and who loved him in return. That love will endure.
