Robert Lee Hooks

On Saturday, November 2, 2019, our brother Robert, age 56, passed away after struggling many years with pulmonary disease.

He will be dearly missed by his family, but is celebrating in Heaven today. He attended St. Paul Catholic Church and Akron Baptist Temple. Robert worked various jobs through Summit DD for over 25 years. He enjoyed going to work and the friendships he made there. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and was "up" for any outing (probably eating out the most).

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Walter; and mother, Beatrice. He is survived by his siblings, Tom (Cindy) Hooks, Jim (Sandi) Hooks, Paula (Brad) Haben, Mark Hooks, Kevin (Jenny) Hooks, Sue (Dave) Kirkland and Nancy (Darin) Springford, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

We would like to thank all who helped Robert over the years at Summit DD and especially Gary Zahler, SSA, who with such kindness supported and helped guide Robert with job and community issues and opportunities.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301 where the family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider taking dinner to someone who is housebound, take a walk with someone who is lonely, or be a light where there may only be darkness.
