Obituary

Robert "Bob" J. Gregg, Sr.

January 3, 1928 – April 16, 2024

Robert (Bob) J. Gregg, Sr., beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and

United States Marine, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2024, in Stow, Ohio, at the age of 96.

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Bob's journey led him to Brooklyn, New York, where he met his

wife, Genevieve (Jenny), during his time serving in the Marine Corps. They returned to Ohio, where

they shared over 75 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, family, and cherished memories.

Bob retired from a career as a tool and die inspector, showcasing his meticulous

attention to detail and commitment to excellence.

A helper at heart, Bob found joy in his spare time giving back to family and community.

He volunteered tirelessly at his son's athletics programs in Streetsboro, Ohio, and later

extended his support to his grandsons' sports in Stow, Ohio. As the equipment manager

of the Stow Munroe Falls HS football team, Bob's contributions were invaluable; often

seen repairing equipment, distributing water, and offering assistance to coaches

wherever needed. His presence on the sidelines was not only helpful but also filled with

warmth and humor, as he'd sneak root beer candies to players, and 4-piece chicken

dinners to parents.

Bob's resourcefulness and handiness were legendary; he could fix anything with his skill

and determination, and solve any problem with his patient "wait awhile, wait awhile"

attitude. Despite his thrifty ability to find the cheapest gallon of gas in any ZIP code,

Bob's generosity knew no bounds, as he selflessly extended a helping hand to many.

Bob found simple pleasures in life, like daily coffee at McDonald's, Cleveland

Cavs/Guardian games on the radio, collecting unique coins, or refilling his many

birdfeeders.

His actions and values were a testament to his faith in Jesus Christ, speaking louder

than his words ever would. Bob's legacy of love, generosity, patience, and service will

forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents George and Aurelia Hrehorevich, siblings Carl

Hrehorevich, Harry Gregorevich, Ralph Hrehorevich, Gertrude Kocab. He is survived by

his wife, Genevieve; children, Linda (Paul) Koberg, Robert Jr. (Jane) Gregg;

grandchildren; Damon Gregg, Benjamin Gregg, Jonah (Jennifer) Gregg,

great-grandchildren, Cooper and Campbell Rose Gregg, and a host of nieces, nephews,

relatives and friends.
