Ricky Beckett

Ricky Beckett, 68, passed peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2026 of Alzheimer's.

Ricky was born on April 6, 1958 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Alice Beckett and Russell Pringle, and came to Akron as a young child. Ricky had a nurturing soul and would do anything for anyone. He had an infectious smile and gave the best hugs. Most of all, he loved his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Janis; children Candice Towns, Rikka Towns, Zorna Towns, Jacob Stanley and Chole Beckett; Grandchildren Damemaier Towns, Mark Wooden, Liam Robinson, Racquel Fleming, and Ri'elle Fleming; sister Sheila Jean Beckett; Aunts Brenda Beckett, Barbara Jean Beckett, Joyce Beckett, and Jane Beckett; and many cousins and lifelong friends.

Friends may call on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 from 10:30a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home, Akron Chapel, 1990 S Main St, where a service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Pastor Patrick Barrett officiating. Repast will be held following the service at Community of Christ Church, 834 Grant St in Akron.
