Richard Michael Williams

Richard M. Williams, 76, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
Rich was born in Waterloo, Iowa on April 25, 1949 and came to Akron as a youth. He attended Archbishop Hoban High School and went on to earn a degree in civil engineering. In addition to his freelance engineering, he also worked at Land O'Lakes and Aamco for many years. Rich was a devout member of St. Bernard and St. Mary Parishes, where he attended daily mass for the last several decades and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and Regnum Christi. He was a faithful participant in the Holy Hour program at St. Augustine in Barberton for many years. He would probably say what he most enjoyed this side of heaven were the many years of brotherhood and friendship he enjoyed with his dear friend Andrew Martin.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents LaVern and Mildred Williams, and brother Jack Williams. He is survived by his brother Bob Williams; nieces and nephews Justin Williams, Amy (Andrew) Cruse, Katie (Mike) Nelson, David (Leah) Williams, Christa Rose, Danielle Williams, and Barbara Bartee; sister-in-law Sherri Williams; many great nieces and nephews; and close friends and roommate, Andrew Martin.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 22 from 5-7PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes-Akron Chapel, 1990 S Main St in Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Friday, May 23 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 44 University Ave, Akron OH 44308. Burial at St. Bernard Cemetery. Donations may be made to the church.
