Richard Charles Schmidt

Richard 'Ricky' C. Schmidt, 70, passed away on April 21, 2022. Ricky was born on July 12, 1951 in Akron and was a 1969 graduate of Garfield High School. He retired from Firestone Nine Public Course in 2012, where he worked as the course professional.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Irene and stepfather Thomas Heffernan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Mary Jo; stepson Ross (Monica) Scarsellato; sister Karen Heffernan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 4, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Second St. in Cuyahoga Falls. A private Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial in Ricky's memory to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
