Richard Virgil Green

Richard V. Green, 81, passed away peacefully Saturday August 16, 2025 with family at his side.
Richard was born in Akron to the late Robert and Naomi Green. A graduate of Garfield High School and the University of Akron, he went on to work for Continental/General Tire for over 40 years. In his retirement, Richard and his wife moved to Florida where he spent his time golfing, traveling, volunteering and socializing with friends. They returned to Ohio recently to be with family. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Richard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kathy; children Amy (Joe) Griffin, David (Nora) Green, and Lisa (Bobby) Weijmar; grandchildren Michelle, Joey (Danielle), Matthew, Lauren, Benjamin, Vincent, Caroline (Julius), and Joakim (Natalie); great-grandchildren Halie, Hunter, Marissa, Lucy, and Elsie; sister Sandra Moses; and many dear friends.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 29 at 11:00AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 7707 Market Ave N, North Canton, OH 44721, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00AM. Interment at Greensburg Cemetery.
