Renee Marguerite (Bralek) Schillinger

Renee M. Schillinger (Bralek), 74, was called home in the early morning of June 2, after a long and courageous battle with COPD.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Irene Bralek of Akron.
Renee is survived by her loving husband, and in later years, also her full-time caregiver, Stephen P. Schillinger; sons Stephen J. (Lisa) of Akron & James P. Schillinger of Collierville, TN; daughter Jennifer N. (Jon) Morris of Akron; grandchildren Stephen Jr., Ryan, Kaitlin, Christopher, Taylor, Bradley, Samantha, & Jack; great-granddaughter Gracie.
Renee was born on November 19, 1946 and lived most of her life in Akron with the exception of the years during her husband's service in the US Air Force which took them to Mississippi and Bellefontaine, Ohio.
Renee was known for her love of gardening. Her flower and landscape gardens were her pride and joy and she was a frequent customer at most of the area garden centers & nurseries.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but the seeds she planted in life will continue to grow and bloom for generations, and her memory will be kept alive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 5, at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church 750 S. Main St. Akron, OH 44311, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
