Regina Grace
Deshon
May 29, 1929 – February 5, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Regina Grace Deshon on February 5, 2025, at the age of ninety-five. Regina was born in Akron, Ohio on May 29, 1929, to Frank and Hannah Kelly.
Regina met the love of her life William R. Deshon and they married on April 11, 1956, and they were married for 65 years till Willaim preceded her in death in 2019. Regina and William were lifelong members of St. Paul Catholic church.
After high school Regina worked as a secretary for the Travelers Insurance Company for a few years. She was a devoted homemaker and mother. She had a very caring and generous nature, she had a wicked sense of humor, was always current with news of the day and she loved to debate politics with you. She loved to travel with her family and was privileged to go to many states in the US. Regina loved to bake, and she loved tasting all kinds of desserts, however, coconut was her favorite. She also liked riding in the country or anywhere, having a nice day out shopping.
Regina was preceded in death of her beloved family members, brother Charles Kelly, (sister-in-aw Mary Jane Kelly), nephews David Kelly and Daniel Kelly. Sister Mary Schenley (brother-in-law Paul Schenley), parents Frank and Hannah Kelly.
Regina is survived by her son William C. DeShon who lovingly took care of both parents till their deaths. Regina is also survived by nieces: Kathy Boone (David), Linda Kelly, MaryAnn Rana (Arvind), Mary Davidson (Duane) and several great nieces and nephews.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.. Location St. Francis DeSales Church, 4019 Manchester Rd, Akron, Ohio 44319. Visitors may pay their respects to the family one-half hour prior to the funeral Mass from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the church. The burial will take place at 12:15 pm at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery 10175 Rawiga Road Seville, OH 44273; where she will be laid to rest with her spouse William R. DeShon.
