Raymond J. Slattery, Jr. age 83, passed away Wednesday, September 16th at Akron City Hospital. He was born May 1, 1932 in Kankakee, Illinois to the late Raymond and Bertha (Kunkler) Slattery. Raymond retired from the University of Akron in 1984 as a Plant manager. He was a member of Holy Family Church, and Veteran of the US Navy. Raymond is survived by his wife Phyllis of 61 years; his four sons, Ray (Julie), Tim, John (Cheryl), and Jim Slattery; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren. Friends may call 5-8pm Sunday at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, 3333 Kent Rd. (At Rt. 91) in Stow. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am Monday at Holy Family Church, 3179 Kent Rd. in Stow. Interment in All Saints Cemetery.
