R. Douglas Fitts

We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of R. Douglas Fitts on January 17.

Doug was a simple but brilliant man who put his engineering degree from Case Western to good use for his entire family. He could fix anything in the house, excelled at problem-solving, and even built his family two dance studios. Doug adored his three children, Dr. Graysen Petersen-Fitts (wife Molly Fitts), Devon Schrader (fiancé Dustin Rooze), and Jordan Petersen-Fitts. In addition to his children, Doug is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Beverly; his brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Betty Fitts; and many nieces and nephews.

Doug will also be remembered for his love of trains and his fur children Frankie and Michael. Douglas was a true "animal whisperer" and they all loved him dearly.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. (one block North of Portage Trail at 3rd St.) Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221.
