Phyllis Marie (Beers) Keefer

Phyllis Marie Keefer, 88, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024, 4 days shy of her 89th birthday, with her 4 daughters by her side.
She was born on April 28, 1935 in Binghamton, New York on her mother Francis's birthday.
While spending her early years in Binghamton, New York she met and married Bob Keefer in 1953 and began their travels with the U.S. Air Force to Mississippi, Washington D.C., Maryland, and eventually taking them back to Binghamton until 1960 when they moved their young family to Akron, Ohio.
She raised her 5 children in Akron and continued to spend the summers with her family in Binghamton, New York. Phyllis's greatest joy was being a mother to her children and again over the years as she became a grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Once her children were grown, Phyllis dedicated 25 years to Akron Felt and Chenille. Following her retirement, she spent her days enjoying time with her family, traveling to Myrtle Beach where she would spend countless hours searching for the perfect seashells.
Phyllis loved watching her beloved Cleveland Indians and Steve Harvey's Family Feud.
Phyllis is survived by her 4 daughters, Debbie Knecht, Laura (Rory) Mayer, Linda (Rusty) Allen, and Julie Eder; their brother from another mother, Dave Mace; sisters-in-law, Betty Willoughby and Cassie Eastman.
She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, Chad Keefer, Mike (Kimmy) Keefer, Jimmy (Ang) Keefer, Heather (Nick) Mickunas, Brittany (PJ) Helms, Ryan Mayer, Ashley (Mike) Watts, Holly (Jamie) Brown, Jesse Allen, Jamie Allen, Meghan (Jon) Patch, and Cody Eder; 15 great-grandchildren, Chad Jr., Chase, Collin, Cadence, Connor, Kelsie, Kennedy, Finley, Harper, Nixon, Nicky, Hope, Zoey, Taylor, and Callan; and one great-great-grandson, Chase Jr.; former daughter-in-law, Cindy Mitchell; former son-in-law, Todd Eder; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her son, Bobby; son-in-law, Eddie Knecht; and former husband, Bob Keefer.
She is also preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Francis and Harold Eastman, and father and stepmother, Orman and Helen Beers; sisters, Norma (Bob) Mattucci, and Gerry (Mel) Harris; brothers, Kent and Dick (Joan) Eastman; and special friends, Claire Mace, Bobbie Lackey, Luella Madden, and Priscilla Fry.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 27 from 2-4pm at at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S Main St in Akron where a memorial service will take place at 4PM.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the caregivers and staff at Justin T. Rogers Cleveland Clinic Hospice Care Center where she received loving care.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333.
