Philomena Ann Herold

January 17, 1933 — April 11, 2025

Philomena Ann Herold (Stribbling), passed away on April 11, 2025 after a brief illness at the age of 92.
Ann was born in Leicester England on January 17, 1933 to John and Mary Stribbling and was the seventh child of eight children. She attended Saint Peter School in Leicester and Holy Cross School. During her school years Ann was an accomplished swimmer having numerous first place certificates from the Leicester and County Amateur Swimming Association. She also played field hockey. During the early to mid 1940's Ann and her family experienced the bombings from Germany during World War II. She immigrated to the United States from England in 1953 and settled initially in Wadsworth, Ohio then moved to Barberton, Ohio. Ann became a US Citizen on April 29, 1965 of which she was very proud of. She worked for the Watkins Company in Barberton. Ann met Tom Herold of Barberton and on May 14, 1955 they were married at Saint Augustine Catholic Church in Barberton, Ohio. They had six children and were married 36 years before Tom passed away in 1991. Ann was a past member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and had volunteered in the kitchen for lunch at St. John the Baptist Catholic School. She recently was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Akron, Ohio.
Ann was a great wife to her husband Tom, and a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a person of great faith, and cared for people especially those more in need than herself. You would never leave her home unless you were full. In years past Ann loved working in her yard with her flowers. She recently had a conversation with a nurse practitioner in which she was asked what was most important to Ann and she responded, "My Family". She will be missed by all who have met her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Herold, daughter (infant) Anne Marie Herold, son Tom Herold and her mother and father Mary and John Stribbling. Ann was the last surviving sibling from her family of four brothers (Leo, Peter, Bill and Tony) and three sisters (Maureen Witschey, Colette Herold and Mary Stribbling).
Ann is survived by her daughter, Mary White (Don); sons John Herold (Judy), Larry Herold (Denise), Dan Herold (Willa); daughter in-law Teri Herold; grandchildren, Lisa White, Kristin Brubaker (Mike), Melissa Giannini (Jason), Jason Herold (Jordan), Samantha Pedro (Helder), Scott Herold, Sara Herold, Joshua Herold; great-grandchildren Ava Brubaker, Jordyn Brubaker, Beckett Brubaker, Anthony Giannini, Jackson Giannini, Jayden Herold, Jameson Herold, Emilia Pedro, and Gabriel Pedro.
The family of Philomena A. Herold wishes to thank Dr. Parajuli and her team from the Summa Barberton Campus Hospice for their caring and compassionate care they gave our mother in her final days of life.
At her request there will be no calling hours. A private service and burial will be held for the immediate family.
