Peter James Denholm

Peter J. Denholm, 79, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026 after a long illness.

Pete was born on November 20, 1946 to the late Edward and Edna Denholm and was lifelong area resident. He went to St. Martha Grade School and graduated from North High School in 1964. Pete attended the University of Akron and then worked for the City of Akron for 37 years as an electrical engineer. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Pete lived and breathed golf.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his sister Mary Welty; brother Matthew Denholm; and his best friend Tarzana. He is survived by his wife Liz; daughter Maggie (Shannon) Tratnyek; siblings Edward (Anna Marie) Denholm, Bernadette (Peter) Chapin, Patricia Denholm, Martin (Donna) Denholm, and Beth Denholm; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Friday, September 4, 2026 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 44 University Ave in Akron, where the family will receive friends beginning at 9:00AM. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kimberly S. Denholm Charities; information can be found of their Facebook page.
