Patricia Worth

Patricia Worth, 85, died peacefully in her sleep after a long illness.
Pat was born in Indianapolis and grew up in Union City, IN as well as Greenville, OH. She was a graduate of St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing, and went on to earn a master's degree at the University of Akron. Pat served many years as an RN, at hospitals as well as with the elderly and underserved in programs like Senior Workers Action Program.
Part way through life, Pat furthered her education by attending the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Services in Oakland, CA, earning a degree in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Pat was skilled and sought out as an acupuncturist and served countless people for decades in the Dayton, OH area. She was kind and compassionate to her clients, often trading services if they couldn't afford acupuncture. She regrettably gave up her practice a year or two after going fully blind in 2015.
Pat had six children with her former husband, John Zmurk. Together they shared 28 grandchildren and 7 great grand children.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Marshall Worth, Sr and Dorothy McDuffee Worth, siblings Alice Worth Murray (Aunt Mick), Elizabeth Worth (Aunt Tiny), Robert Marshall Worth, Jr (Uncle Butch), special friend Jonathan Flanery, and her former husband, John Zmurk. She is survived by their six children: Greg (Laure) Zmurk, Teresa (Gary) Giorgio, Marie (David) Monsour, Philip Zmurk, Joseph Zmurk, and Paula (James) Gilbride. Pat is survived by her treasured 28 grandchildren: Emily and Audrey Zmurk; Marie (Joshua), Thomas (Ashlee), Daniel (Iliana), Joseph, Monica, Kate (Joud), Michael (Zhafira), Nicholas, Gianna, and Samuel Giorgio; Regina, James, John, Caroline, Christine, Simon, Grace, Victor, Lucy, and Lea Monsour; Emma, Jasmine, and Madison Zmurk; and Jackson (Olivia), Troy, and Joseph Gilbride. Pat is also survived by seven great grand children, siblings Dorothy Worth Berg and Ruth Worth Gunn Martin, as well as many nieces and nephews
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 27, at 930 am at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Akron, followed by burial at Springhill Cemetery in Union Township, Darke County, Ohio, at a Worth Family Cemetery.
