Nicolo (Nick) G. Eleo, Sr. 92 passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at Akron General Medical Center. He was born in Peninsula and was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. Mr. Eleo was a combat veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. After the War he worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. Along with owning and operating Eleo Concrete, Nick was also a Deputy with the Summit County Sheriff's Office. He was a 3rd and 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed bike riding and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Eleo was honored in 2010 with a Proclamation commemorating his World War II veteran status by former Mayor Don Robart at the Cuyahoga Falls Festa Italiana. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dora in 2006; 4 brothers; and 5 sisters. He is survived by his children, Nicholas (Angela), Louise Woods, Angelo (Melanie), Angela (Don) Jefferys, Dora Eleo (Thomas Springston) and Michael Eleo; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave. Akron, Ohio 44310. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. The family will receive friends Friday, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. (one block North of Portage Trail at 3rd St.) Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
