Nancy L Winkler (77) of Green Ohio passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2021, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. #WINKLERWARRIORS
She was born in Canton Ohio on June 18, 1943 to John and Luna Amato. Nancy dedicated her life to helping others in the Mental Health and Addiction Recovery fields, most recently employed and retired from the Interval Brotherhood Home (IBH).
Over the years Nancy was an active member of Queen of Heaven Church, and her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, whether at 4-H meetings or various sports events.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Luna Amato and her brother John.
She is survived by the Love of her Life of 56 years, husband Larry A Winkler and the 5 T's.... Tracy (Patrick) Wehrlin of Green, Tony (Edie) Winkler of Sagamore Hills, Todd (Tiffany) Winkler of Seattle Washington, Tiffany (Ryan) Mann of Louisville, and Tara (Patrick) Snyder of Massillon. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Chris (Mari), Cameron, Brandon, Caitlin, Sean, Adrienne, Benjamin and Jackson.
Further survived by her brothers and sisters, wife of John Amato (Wanda), Mary (Dick) Kilgore, David (Chris) Amato, Richard (Nancy) Amato, and Steve (Mary) Amato along with many nieces, nephews, in-laws and loyal friends.
The family will recieve friends Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 4 to 7 PM at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Road (corner of Massillon and Steese Roads in Green, entrance off Steese Rd.) where a Holy Name Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. Additional receiving Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 10 to 11 am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd., Uniontown OH 44685 followed by the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. The Mass will be live streamed at Queenofheavenparish.org. Mask and social distancing are required at the Church and the funeral home. Interment Calvary Cemetery in Canton. Donations to IBH, Queen of Heaven Parish or Ovarian Cancer Research.
