Myroslav Joseph Melnyk, 99, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
He was born in Stara Bircza, Ukraine and came to the United States in 1951. Dr. Melnyk was a professor at the Kent State University School of Business where his textbook "Principles of Applied Statistics" was used for many years. He received his doctorate at the Universite' Catholique de Louvain in Belgium and completed his post doctorate at Harvard. Dr. Melnyk was an expert on Ukrainian Economic and Political affairs. A compendium of his writings, "Ukrainian Problems" was published in Kyiv. He founded the Ukrainian American Association of University Professors.
Preceded in death by his wife, Daria; he is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Marco, Borys and Carol.
