Michele L. Nichols

March 19, 1944 — December 23, 2022

Michele Lynne Nichols, 78, passed away December 23, 2022 with her loving family by her side.
Born March 19th, 1944, she was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio. Michele graduated high school as valedictorian from Garfield high school in 1962 and received her B.S. in Education from the University of Akron. Following her graduation, Michele was a dedicated Special Education teacher and tutor for Akron Public Schools for over 40 years, spending majority of her career at North High School.
An eccentric person, Michele was passionate about being involved in her community through many charitable activities and organizations. She was a member of Akron Women's City Club, Civic Theatre Women's Guild, YMCA Mothers Club, Firestone Park YMCA Board of Directors, Firestone Park City Council, Akron Blind Center, Scrips & Scribes of Greater Akron, Firestone Park Santa Delivery, Friends of Children Hospital Board, and contributor to the annual fundraiser for the harness races. She loved the arts and volunteering with the Kenley platers. The highlight of her love for acting was playing the Queen of Hearts at Weathervane Theatre, assisting in the film production of The Instructor filmed in the Akron area, and performed a dancing solo on the Jean Carol show.
A loving mother and grandmother, she will be remembered for the special times she spent with her family, whether taking unplanned family trips at the last minute, being an Indian Maiden, supporting her grandchildren's sporting events, and spoiling them, including a trip to Disney World with her loving husband and family.
She was preceded in death by her father Benjamin Weaver; mother Martha Weaver; high school sweetheart and husband of 40 years Frank Nichols; precious daughter, Tina Buehrle; and brothers-in- law, Phil Clardy, Dan Nichols, and Tony Franjesh.
She leaves behind her children including Ty Nichols who was her dedicated caregiver for over a decade, Todd (Peggy) Nichols, Tamara Nichols; and son-in-law Ed Buehrle. She also leaves behind her grandchildren which she adored, Alli (Cameron), Shane, Victor, Riley, Max, Russell, and Delaney; sister, Pammy Clardy; sisters-in-law, Helen Franjesh and Barb Nichols; special niece Kimmie McCarthy; close cousins, the Tkacik girls; and many other nieces, cousins, and great friends who will all miss her dearly. She was so looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild Madilyn and upcoming family weddings.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, OH 44301 where services will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. (Anthony, Akron. 330-724-1281. anthonyfh.com)
