Dedo, 91, peacefully passed away July 11, 2015 in his sleep after a short illness. He is now reunited with his wife, Anne (Dimoff), of 68 years who is no doubt asking him why it took him so long to join her.

He is survived by his sons Steven and his children Amanda, Steven and Alex; Daniel and his children Danielle, Alise (Tom) and Olivia; David (Christine) and their children Kalie, Bethany and Nicholas; and Michael (Patrice) and their children Michael (Mary Jo), Adam, Lauren and Sarah. Dedo leaves his great grandchildren Wesley and Savannah and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Meek was born in Steelton Pennsylvania where his family lived along with many other immigrants from Macedonia. Growing up in this Macedonian neighborhood instilled in him a great pride in his heritage and he continued to support many cultural activities, including being a long term member of the Macedonian Businessman's Club where he was presented with the Macedonian Businessman of the Year Award in 2002.
Meek served his country in WWII and the aircraft carrier USS Antietam in the South Pacific and was honorably discharged as an Electricians Mate. He continued his education and became a professional TV technician. Meek and Anne married and moved to Akron where he worked in the greater Akron community repairing TV's for his entire career.
Meek and Anne helped to organize the St. Thomas Eastern Orthodox Church and they remained active in the local Orthodox community their entire life as representatives on the Christian Orthodox Council of Akron (COCA). Meek loved singing anytime and anywhere and particularly enjoyed singing in the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church Choir, right up to his final days. He enjoyed his Wednesday Bible Study Group where he made many friends.
A gentle and loving man, Meek established and maintained his Saturday Soup Open House and was always cooking something for whoever might stop by. His God, family and friends were always his priority.
