Michael Stuart Barnes, 57, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Michael was born in Akron on March 12, 1969, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a member at St. Sebastian Catholic Church and graduated from St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in 1989. Michael participated in bowling and track teams with the ATC (All-star Training Club) and was a member of Boy Scouts. Michael enjoyed playing cards, reading maps, traveling, keeping track of his extended family, teasing and laughing.

Preceded in death by his parents W. Stuart and Alvira Barnes, Michael is survived by his sisters Kathleen (David) Conrad and Dianne (James) Kenny along with their children and grandchildren.

For the last five years Michael's home has been GentleBrook's Hartville Meadows, where his goal was always to get a smile or a laugh from everyone. He spread love wherever he went, often in the form of hand-written notes. Thank you to the staff of Hartville Meadows for all of the kindness and love he experienced during his time living there.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 27 at 11AM at Queen of Heaven Parish, 1800 Steese Road where the family will receive friends beginning at 10AM.
