Meuan Sisouphanh was born on May 3, 1938. Meuan passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at age 84 on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Wooster Community Hospital. Preceded by death, Sa and Phom Sisouphanh, Bane Pakthouay, Tasseng Pakthouay, Muoang Paksane, Khuoeng Borikanh, Kongsi. Meuan is a loving brother of 3 older brothers and 2 older sisters who have passed (Before March 20, 1957), 1 younger brother who currently resides in Laos. Survived by wife, Pheng; children, Seng (Katrina), Chiengkham (Vaenkeo), Phoungeun, Katay (Anna), Phouphet, Phou Khao (Crystal), Keomanivanh, and Keomanivone (Eddie); nieces and nephews, Bouathong Phanda (Amphone), Viengvilay (Lisa), Oudomxay (Pok), Kham (Keota), Toukta, Lyndah (Peter), Say (Sangiame), Vanxay (Khampane), and Sangiame; grand children, Michael, Matthew (Jessica), Anthony (Brittani), Tyler, Alexa (Johnny), Jaylen, Kyle, Brittany, Nino, Lauren, Nadya, Naya, Lawrence, Kaliana, Justin, Sulina, Shana, Jordan, Jace, Cameron, and Ayden; great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Aniviah, Lila, Sophia, Kaiden, Milo.
Meuan graduated high school in 1957. He honorably joined the Lao Army (Auto Blinder) in 1958, Graduate C.A.T.1 Dactylo (typing letters), Grade Corporal in 1963, Graduate C.A.T.2 Compatibility Administration at Ecole Adon, Grade Sergeant in 1966, Graduate Premier Degree Compatibility Ecole Administration (Chinamo, Laos), Grade Adjudant (warrant officer) in 1968, Grade Adjudant-Chef (chief warrant officer) in 1970, Officer Detail in Armonition 1973, Officer Detail in the Subdivision Vientiane at Muang PhonHong until 1975 - when Communism took over Laos. Meuan and his family escaped to the Refugee Camp in Thailand (Nong Khai, Thailand) in 1977 and stayed at the camp until 1980. Meuan and his family came to America on July 4, 1980 and settled in Rittman, Ohio 44270. He became a PCM employee in 1981, then worked for New Castings, and finally Quality Mold until he retired in 2003.
Meuan spent his life as a family man. After retirement, he devoted his time to attending and watching his children and grandchildrens' sporting events, taking photos and documenting special events of everyone he loved. Meuan especially enjoyed embracing family history by telling his life stories. His favorite pastime activities were watching action movies, spending time outside in the garden, playing cards with his buddies, squirrel-hunting and fishing. However, Meuan was happiest when he was around everyone at family gatherings. He always taught the priority of taking care of family and spending quality time with your loved ones. Meuan's morals were above all. Meuan was known for his character with a contagious smile and laugh. His most famous saying was "be good." One of Meuan's best qualities was being selfless, he would be the first to fulfill a favor. He was welcoming to everyone and he never met a stranger. Meuan was very kind hearted and left the world a better place to all who had the privilege to know and love him.
Visitation hours are 4-6 pm on Friday, February 24, 2023. Service at 12:30 pm on Saturday February 25, 2023. Both located at Anthony Funeral Homes & Crematory (1990 S. Main St Akron, OH).
