Maxine Thompson nee Looney, 79, peacefully went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 18, 2016.
Born August 12, 1936 in Tariff WV, to the late Harvey & Esther Looney, Maxine came to Akron as a teenager. She worked as the head teller for National City Bank for over 40yrs. Maxine was a longtime, dedicated member of the Akron Baptist Temple, where she participated in many, various ministries. A kind, quiet and reserved woman, Maxine was a dedicated mother & grandmother and she will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50yrs, William; and she was the last of her eight siblings to be called home. She is survived by her only daughter Pamela Lanham; grandchildren Nicholas (Erin) & Katie; great-grandchildren Matthew, Olivia, Sophie, Bryson & Nicholas; and many nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 25 from 10:00AM-12:00PM, at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a funeral service will be held at 12NOON, Pastor Mike Prebynski officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park will immediately follow.
