Maryelva (Ellsworth) Urdiales

June 11, 1940 — November 13, 2021

Maryelva (Ellsworth/Hirsch) Urdiales, (81), passed away peacefully on November 13, 2021 after a twenty year battle with dementia. She was born into a beautiful family of eighteen children and loved sharing her joyous memories of life on the farm with all of her brothers and sisters. Maryelva was the proud mother of five children, whom she loved beyond all measure. Spending time with her family and friends was one of Maryelva's greatest joys in life. She always wanted to make everyone laugh and smile, whether dancing, yodeling, or playing piano her joyful spirit was contagious. Her love of life and ability to see the beauty in everything and everyone will live on in our hearts forever.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Maryelva's caregiver, Robi, for all of the hard work and exceptional care she provided over the last eight years. She has become a special part of our family and we are forever grateful for all she did to make Maryelva's last years so full of peace, comfort, and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Margaret Ellsworth; husband, Dario Urdiales; siblings, Orville Ellsworth, Yvonne Oyster, Willie Ellsworth, Pete Ellsworth, Jimmy Ellsworth, Sandy Kepner, and Carol Ellsworth; step-son, Kim Urdiales; step-grandson, Michael Urdiales.

She is survived by her children, Matthew (Colleen) Hirsch, Barbara (Dominick) Polsinelli, Christyne Mullins, Mark (Heidi) Hirsch, and David Hirsch; step-children, Larry Urdiales, David (Kat) Urdiales, Rick (Leslie) Urdiales, Laura Urdiales, Paula Martin, and Maria Sanders; siblings, Ruthie Weigand, Margie Fitzgerald, Wayne Ellsworth, Irene Shea, Karen Willard, Twyla (Bob) Painter, Elaine Roberts, Cheryl Urdiales, Debbie Moreland, and Ron (Kerry) Ellsworth; sister in-laws, Judy Ellsworth, Wanda Ellsworth, Maryann Urdiales, and Pat Urdiales; grandchildren, Erica (Nate) Ramsay, Marissa (Tanner) Hughes, Sydnee (Blake) Bonnema, Megan Hirsch, and Gillian (Andrew) Derhammer; step-grandchildren, Paul Dario (Missy) Urdiales, Olivia Polsinelli, Justin Urdiales, Emily Gallardo, Marilyn Lara, Michael Urdiales, and Rose (Ben) Grom; step-great grandson Griffin Brady; great granddaughter Brianna Ramsay; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


The family will receive friends from 5-7PM Wednesday, November 17 at Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St in Akron. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. (Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, Akron)
