Maryanna Natalie Ogonek, 87, died peacefully on March 17, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Maryanna (nee Vaughn) was born in 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio. She grew up amongst her extended Croatian family, including numerous cousins, and was quite proud of her Croatian roots. She met her future husband, Joseph Ogonek, while working at John Carroll University. Maryanna and Joseph were married in 1958 and settled in Barberton, Ohio in 1966 to raise their growing family. Maryanna devoted her life and love to her family and community. She was an active volunteer at St. Francis de Sales School and Church, Walsh Jesuit High School, Loyola of the Lakes Retreat House and Meals on Wheels. She was an avid reader who enjoyed gardening and travel - and instilled a love of cooking and enjoying food in her entire family.
Maryanna's true love was her family. She supported Joe and their eleven children through various adventures and misadventures. She was immensely proud and received great joy from their 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
