Mary Catherine Swires

E. Stroudsburg, PA-Mary C. Swires, 62, died on Saturday, December 12, 2015 while surrounded by her family.
Born in Del Norte, Colorado on February 28, 1953 to the late Richard & Betty Jo Platz, Mary was raised in Alaska, which is where she met the love of her life, Daniel Swires. When Dan's job transferred the family to Akron in the mid-90s, Mary and the boys finally saw this Ohio weather they'd heard so much about. She was a faithful member of the Eastern Orthodox Church, and loved the Christmas season.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother Michael. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Dan; sons Christopher & Nicholas (Christine); and brother Rick (Susan) Platz.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 18 at 11 AM at St. Thomas Eastern Orthodox Church, 555 S. Cleveland Massillon Rd, Fairlawn, Ohio 44333, where the family will receive friends and relatives from 9 to 11 AM, prior to the service. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
