Mary Ann Steffek

Mary Ann Steffek, 71, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary Ann was born August 15, 1947 to Albert and Helen (Zofchak) Hodnick in Akron and had been an area resident her entire life.  She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Sons and Daughters of Army Navy Garrison 102. Mary Ann enjoyed casinos, yard sales, Cleveland sports and especially her grandchildren. Mary Ann is survived by her husband, of 44 ½ years, Jerome; children Lori (Bryan) Roberts and Michael Steffek; grandchildren Alyssa and Bryce Steffek; and sister Delores Hodnick; other family and dear friends. Special thanks to Summa Home Hospice, especially nurse Kelly Canterbury, for their compassionate care. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday December 3, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1034 Brown Street Akron, OH 44301, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to the charity of your choice.  "Dilly Dilly"
