Mary Sabina Silashki

Mary Sabina Silashki (nee Pala), 97, passed away May 15, 2026.

Mary was born on August 8, 1928 in Akron to the late Frank & Maria Pala and was a member of the last graduating class of Sacred Heart Academy in 1946. She worked for O'neil's, City Meats & Foods, and the Tasty Pure Foods, Co. She was a devoted member of St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church, where she sang in the choir. Mary loved music and dancing. She loved to travel and took numerous visits to Sardinia to visit family.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Michael 'Mickey'; siblings Paul, John, Nancy, Toni, Frances, & Eda. She is survived by her children Christina (Giovanni) Donatelli, Michelle (Michael) Papp, & Francesca Thoricht; grandchildren Giancarlo, Simone, Alessandra (Christopher), Kevin (Hanna), & Ellen; great-grandchildren Eli & Aubriana, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the nursing staff on the second floor of Ohio Living Rockynol, especially Dylan, Desiree, and Sany for their compassionate care.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 19, 5-7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home - Akron Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., where a Pomen will be held at 6:30 pm. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, May 20, 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lakewood Cemetery.
