Mary Anne Nicholas (Doherty)

Mary Anne Nicholas (Doherty), 54, passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, in Akron, Ohio.

Mary was born Feb. 18, 1966, in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in LA (Lower Akron) in Firestone Park.

She attended Voris Elementary School, St. Paul School and Roswell Kent Junior High School before graduating from Garfield High School (Class of '84).

Mary showed a knack as a beautician while spending years serving her customers at White Pond Drive-Thru.

She enjoyed food fights and Lawson's French onion dip, Irish jigs and reels, mastering Mom's recipes and taking care of Dad. Did we mention she had a green thumb? Pretty good with the plants.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Anne (Jakubisin) and Jere Doherty; sister, Kathleen Anne Doherty; and nephew, Zachary Doherty.

She is survived by sons, Sean Nicholas (Tessa Morgan Roberts) and Matthew Nicholas; brothers, Tim Doherty and Shawn (Pam) Doherty; granddaughters (Ella, Harper); nephews, Max Doherty and Kevin Doherty; nieces, Brittney Doherty and Mikalah Doherty.

Visitation will be held 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertresz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron. A service will be held at the chapel at 2 p.m., with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
