Mary Ann (Merkle) Kunig

Mary Ann Kunig passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the age of 80.
Mary Ann never met a stranger that did not become a friend. She was always giving and would do anything to help. She was born on August 29, 1941 to Tony and Kate (Muslek) Markle. After graduating from Barberton High School, she graduated from the Akron School of Business and was employed by B&W of Barberton for 45 years.
Her love of all things western and cowboy was only second to her love for her husband of 54 years, Frederic W. Kunig.
Preceded in death by her parents and husband, she is survived by a brother Bill Merkle, 2 nieces, a nephew, and many, many friends.
In order to protect each other from the current pandemic and flu, we are requesting everyone wear a mask and maintain social distancing during the service and calling hours.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, December 21st at Anthony Funeral Homes Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron OH 44301. The service will begin at 11:00am with internment to follow at Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Norton Police Department, 4060 Columbia Woods Dr, Norton, OH 44203.
