Mary Ellen Fitzgerald

Mary Fitzgerald, 84, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Summa Palliative Care Center.
She was born on December 3, 1929 in Akron and was a lifelong resident of Wooster until 2001 when she moved to Akron to live with her sister Kathryn who was her caregiver the last year along with her niece Linda Benko.
Mary was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Delia (Hillery) Fitzgerald; sister, Sister Beatrice, OP of the Dominican Sisters of Peace; and brother-in-law, Albert Drexler. She is survived by sister, Kathryn Drexler, niece, Linda (Brad) Benko of Canton; nephew, Albert (Susan) Drexler of South Carolina; and great-nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mary was employed at Western Reserve Insurance Company in Wooster for 42 years retiring in 1996. Her memberships included St. Paul's Parish, Mary's Month Club, Our Lady of Angels and Marianist Missions.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. Private interment at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Wooster. The family will receive friends Monday, 9 to 10 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301 where the Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul's School Fund or a charity of choice.
