Mary Elizabeth Farkas

Mary Farkas, 81, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at Mulberry Gardens Memory Care.
Mary was born August 13, 1937 to Carl and Edna (Seib) Messner in Akron and had been an area resident her entire life. She was educated as a sister by the Sisters of Notre Dame. She was employed by Roadway Express and most enjoyed her years as a cook at Lake High School in Uniontown, Ohio. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband Stephen George Farkas, Sr. and brother Carl Messner, Jr. She is survived by children Stephen (Joyce) Farkas, Jr., Amy Jo (Kevin) Rudd, and Michael Edward Farkas; grandchildren Christopher and Shannon Farkas and Kameron and Natalie Rudd; sister Cece (Bill) Moinette and sister-in-law Rose Messner.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 4 to 7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 4, 2019 at 10:00 am at Nativity of the Lord Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Rd., Akron, OH 44312. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
