Mary Nancy (Codispoti) Dietrich

Mary Nancy Dietrich (Codispoti), 86, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023.

Mary was born and raised in Akron, Ohio and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from St. Vincent 1955 and married James Dietrich on July 11, 1959. She worked many different jobs throughout her career- librarian, telephone operator, grade school gym teacher, caterer, pharmacy technician, and finished her career retiring from West Point Market. Her most important job was raising her 3 children, doting on her grandchildren, and welcoming her great-granddaughter. She was a longtime member of Annunciation Catholic Church, where she could always be found volunteering at many activities and events. She was also known for her beautifully decorated birthday cakes.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nick and Mary Codispoti; her husband of nearly 64 years James Dietrich; and brother Frank Codispoti. She is survived by her children Mary Kay (Bob) Walsh, Bob (Vicki), and Anita (Michael) Osburn; grandchildren Robert Dietrich, Brendan Walsh, Alisha (Cam) Phelps, Alanna (Tyler) Reed, Libby Osburn, and Sarah Osburn; great-granddaughter Emilia Reed; brothers Nick (Carmel), Leonard, Thomas (Mary) Codispoti; sister Carol Scalf; brother-in-law Thomas Dudek; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, December 30 at the Anthony Funeral Home, McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave (at 3rd St, one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls, where the family will receive friends beginning at 1PM. Interment at Holy Cross at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, via  https://diabetes.org.
