Mary Ann Bennett

Mary Ann Bennett, 96, went home to be with the Lord on August 21, 2018.
Born in Toronto, OH on March 10, 1922 to the late Mike & Mary Baltrinic, Mary had been a Barberton resident for over 60 years. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church for 60 years, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Ladies Guild. Mary was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. Mary always had a smile on her face, was always optimistic, and was incredibly witty. She was a huge Cavs fan and loved to watch her children & grandchildren participate in athletics. She always enjoyed her trips to Mountaineer & Las Vegas. Mary was well-traveled, having visited Medjugorje, the Holy Land, & Italy. Mary loved to be with her family and will always be remembered for her Christmas Eve celebrations at the house.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Joe in 2003; brothers Joe, Mike, Pete, & David; sisters Katie & Margaret; son-in-law Tim Dougherty. She is survived by her children Theresa Dougherty, Joe (Jackie), Jim (Nancy), & Michael (Cara) Bennett; grandchildren Kevin, Carolyn, Colleen (Drew) Maglio, Christopher, Craig (Nicole), Kyle (Becca), & Karley Dougherty; Erica, Aaron, & Emma Bennett; Caitlin, Kelly, Kristen, Caroline & Ryan Bennett; Joe, Jami, & Jack Bennett; great-grandchildren Carter, Jackson, Madison, Calvin, Luke, Leia, & Lauren; sisters Sr. Bernadine Baltrinic, OP, Sr. Betty Baltrinic, OP & Mae Kennedy; brother Bob (Carol) Baltrinic. sister-in-law Mary Lou Baltrinic.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, 9:00-10:30 am at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., where prayers will be said at 11 am. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. David Bline will follow at 11:30 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd. Akron, OH 44319. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in Mary's memory to St. Francis de Sales Church.
